Kirigami Columbine Aquilegia caerulea Mix #2
Delicate yet sturdy upright stems top the bushy mound of deeply-cut green foliage, supporting large, vibrant rich red and white upward-facing flowers with delicate red spurs. Requires less of a winter chill than other varieties and will bloom earlier in the season. Excellent for mixed borders and rock gardens. An herbaceous perennial.
Thrives in enriched, lightly moist garden soils, with morning sun and afternoon shade; more shade at lower elevations. Water deeply, regularly in first growing season to develop root system; once established reduce frequency. Clip spent blooms to prolong flowering. Apply slow-release fertilizer in spring. Hard prune at end of growing season.
